Locked decisions + watch-outs (context, not tasks)
• Bolt the first pole layer directly to the rings at numbered positions — the hinge decision. Crossing layer ties to the bolted poles, not the ring.
• Middle ring: bolt top + bottom firm, tie the middle, adjust in person.
• Only ONE spare construction ring — it serves both the main-ring pre-build AND the scaffold towers; sequence around it.
• Scaffold poles: use inventory 5 m + 4 m for the modeled 4.8 m + 3.9 m.
• Build the ENTIRE roof at pre-build. Roof ring (~6.58 m) raised on 3–4 base-restrained temp poles; one tally pole per position for the test.
• ⚠ Pre-drilled holes may shift ~10 mm in transit — expect some redrilling at the playa.
• Aug 4 shipment check: ~5 split poles total, mostly hairline near 3 m pole ends — minor. Brittle cardboard = moisture came OUT, good sign. Poles drying in partial sun.
• Saturday: 6-person crew arrives — early-morning shift (brutal midday sun).
• Pack-down: contract rings with double cable ties, nest same-length poles inside, stack towers vertically.
